A blog dedicated to my experiences in South Jersey. I want to bring greater understanding of the foibles of South Jersey to my people in North Jersey, and do my part to heal the rift tearing our small state asunder (or at least find out why you can’t get a good bagel in South Jersey).
Everyone in either half of New Jersey has an opinion about the other half.
“Northerner’s are terrible drivers!”
“You guys talk funny.” (So do you!)
“What the $#&! is pork roll?”
… and so forth.
Before I moved to Glassboro, my exposure to South Jersey was limited to the occasional obscure punk rock show and a yearly foray to the beach (so I’m a Benny, wanna fight about it?). There has to be more to this place. It’s time to dig deeper.
If there’s a reason that Comcast is unheard of in Bergen and Essex counties, I’m going to try to find out. If there’s a reason why Fliers fans and Devils fans can’t pick their teeth up and have a drink together, I’d like to know. And if anyone wants to point me towards a good bagel, please… please don’t hesitate.
